Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY), now the official principal for the brand in Malaysia, is set to launch the new 2025 Hyundai Tucson facelift next week. This updated model marks a significant step forward for the brand, not only in terms of design but also in performance and technology offerings.
While the initial batch will remain fully imported (CBU) from South Korea, HMY has confirmed that local assembly (CKD) will resume at the Inokom plant in Kulim by the third quarter of 2025 (Q3 2025).

The facelifted Tucson retains the 2.0L naturally aspirated and 1.6L turbocharged petrol engines from the previous model, but adds an exciting all-new hybrid powertrain. The Tucson Hybrid pairs a turbocharged 1.6L engine with a combined output of 235 PS and 367 Nm, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Also previewed was a turbocharged variant with HTRAC, Hyundai’s all-wheel drive (AWD) system, which has never been offered before on the Tucson in Malaysia—hinting at a new variant possibility.

Design-wise, the facelift features a refreshed grille, redesigned bumpers, and an updated DRL signature, while the cabin receives a more dramatic overhaul. The interior now boasts a panoramic curved display, combining 12.3-inch digital instrument and infotainment screens, alongside a reworked centre console with new physical controls for convenience. The gear selector has been relocated to the steering column, echoing modern Hyundai models like the Ioniq 6 and Santa Fe.

The pre-facelift Tucson, launched in Malaysia in November 2023, was priced between RM158,888 and RM195,888. More details on pricing and variant offerings for the facelifted Tucson will be shared closer to launch.
